My Stupid Face

I've always been crazy short sighted. I HAVEN'T always worn glasses. I mostly wear contact lenses, and before I wore those, I didn't wear anything at all (life sure was interesting back then! I don't know how I crossed the street safely!)
Working in optics has given me a pretty deep-seated love of glasses, which is great because I can't wear contacts all-day every-day. So here is a homage to my stupid face and the many frames I inflict it with. It might be worth noting that I own about 20 pairs of prescription spectacles (and many more that don't yet have frames in them!) but somehow, these are the only ones I have photos of. Enjoy! (or not!)

Seraphin Eyewear

Sooo, I've started working on Saturdays for a little boutique optometrist. This has given me a whole new range of spectacles to obsess over. The one that I think I'll blow my first paycheck on? These little babies from Seraphin Eyewear, a division of OGI Eyewear.

May I present...Marquette!
She's sending shivers down my spine with her quirky angles and floral details...brrrrr!!!

Then, the award for paycheck number two goes to...Raleigh! (She's a crystal masterpiece!)

Frame of the Day: 50's Wild Rhinestone Cat Eye Glasses

So, the title pretty much says it all. I googled "The Most Amazing Pair of Glasses I've Ever Seen" and these babies popped up. Thanks Etsy!

Sneaking Duck

OOoooOOOoo la la!

Sneaking Duck had me at their natty name, but pushed the awesome up a notch by having some of the cheapest and amazeballingest specs available in Australia. Yeah yeah!

The glasses themselves have great names too. Check 'em out:

Blue Hole

Wool Spinner

Pearl Knit

They also have luvverly photos of babes wearing the glasses, so you can see exactly how they would look on you if you're a supermodel! AND if you want to see what you would look like wearing them while you're looking like yourself and NOT like a supermodel, which you possibly do anyway, but just in case you possibly don't, then you can simply upload a photo of the front of your head, and their magic software will stick the glasses in front of it and WOW you know if you should buy them or not!

Here is a photo of a cartoon avatar of me wearing the Due Diligence frames

Nice, eh?

Here is their sweet website and Facebook page.
Enjoy!

Oh, Johnny

This might just be the man that started the hipster spectacle trend... or maybe he just does it better than the rest. Who knows. Who cares?

FEAST YA BLOODY EYES, IT'S WONDERFUL!

Jake Gyllenhaal Wearing Glasses

* OH MY GOSH HE'S BLIND JUST LIKE ME THAT'S SO PERFECT WE'RE MEANT TO BE TOGETHER *

I have a dreamy, spectacle wearing boyfriend that I wouldn't leave, even to run away with Jake Gyllenhaal. But this is magical blog land, and we can pretend we're all frolicking in a sexy, bespectacled blog field of dreams and wonder and Jake Gyllenhaal!

He supports the charity "Eyes for the Needy" AND he's a babe. What. A. Dreamboat.

Oh man, he should have played grown up Harry for sure!

Frame of the Day: Kirk Originals

Oh. Mah. Lordy.
These are crazyfreakingawesome. I absolutely want to wrap my face in these jellybean wonders right now and forever more. I was going to show one. Then I was all like "Nah, man. Three. Three's much better. Woo!"
So here's three:

And while you're at it, have a look at their plastic spider face store. Incredible!

Check out their website. Dream a little. They even have this great heading at the moment that says "NEWS: SALE NOW ON", which pretty much turns me into a mushy mess of nerd goo.
