Tumbleweeds Handcraft

Dreamy, freckled, absolutely giddy with colour and personality - Tumbleweeds Handcraft have been lighting up my Instagram feed for months and it's finally time to share their goodies.

In their own words, they 'work with high impact acetate frames and veneer wood by hand to create an unique and durable pair of sunglasses'. True dat. They're also on-trend, crazy fun, and produced in small batches - so you're pretty unlikely to bump into someone in the same shades as you.

They also do pretty ace accessories, like this Brick Wood Veneer Adventure Utensil Set.

Frame of the Day - Fritz Frames

Fritz Frames are amongst the most stunning I've seen. The craftsmanship is beautiful, the timbers used are beautiful quality and they're produced locally to me - on the gorgeous Sunshine Coast. I feel particularly biased, because I've met the Fritz Frames guys at ODMA fair in Sydney (where they won the Award of Excellence in the Sunglasses category) and they are SO LOVELY, I just couldn't help but love their brand even more. During my time as an Optical Sales Rep, I've seen their displays in a few stores, and they really have their branding nailed. It's more than eye-catching, it's eye-hypnotising!

Frame of the Day: Herrlicht

WOW. So, I found these glasses about a year ago, while searching high and low for the perfect pair of wooden frames. I was soon to learn that they can be found, but with one of two major hurdles: either they are so expensive I would have to re-mortgage my house to buy a pair (it's a pretty cheap house, but still), or they just have NO Australian suppliers. In the case of these incredible, hand-crafted Herrlicht specs, the latter is definitely a problem (and possibly the former is too, but no way of finding out...). 

Still, that doesn't stop me dreaming and drooling about having these babies perched on my nose. Enjoy!

These guys also take out the award for the most mind-blowing spectacle case I've ever seen...truly stunning. I wish I could do this. Pass me the lathe!
